Time for a Tune-Up

With autumn now in full swing and our sights on the remaining auctions and collector-car events for Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, the market looks healthy with few, if any, danger signs (other than the usual economic and geopolitical chaos) that we seem to have become accustomed to. Recent news of a long-awaited Middle East ceasefire provides hope and perhaps greater stability.

We ran our Motorcopia Forward Index™ long ago, but persistent computer slowdowns forced us to examine the resulting weighted scores closer than usual and re-run the report several times to ensure accuracy. However, that effort nearly came to a crashing halt as our trusty hard drive was on its last legs. Thanks to the pros at our local Geek Squad, our computer received a new SSD in palce of the aged hard disk, plus a data transfer, much-needed tune-up and security software. We’re back and running better than new and we highly recommend you get your vital electronics checked and tweaked for reliable operation too!

Having taken care of our hardware, it bears mentioning that while we have built a deep understanding of the collector-car market and auctions, our tech savvy isn’t quite equal. If you have not received the Motorcopia Newsletter yet, please take a look at our prior posts to get a better feel for what we do and how our market intelligence can help you get the most from the hobby and if you wish, better returns on your collector-car investments!

Having said all that, let’s check under the hood of the collector-car market and get rolling with our weekly market analysis.

Full-throttle Fall: The Motorcopia Forward Index™ lands at 6.04/10 (Optimistic Buy) for Oct 6–12 as Hershey, Zoute, and a string of UK/EU online sales keep the pipeline strong. Get the week’s data-driven read, our 30-day outlook, and the verified auction roster inside.

Our Motorcopia Market Pulse™ for Sep 29–Oct 5 lands at 5.75/10 (Neutral/ HOLD) amid $10.3M in Audrain sales by Bonhams | Cars including a fee-inclusive $5.7M Bugatti headline result, plus $17.4M from the 684-lot Mecum Indy Fall Special auction with a highest result of $396K. See how that performance ripples across 10 sentiment categories—and what to watch next as Q4 unfolds.

Signal check: The Motorcopia Forward Index™ for Sep 29–Oct 5 prints 5.83/10 - indicating balanced conditions with selective upside as Bonhams | Cars Audrain and Mecum’s Indy Fall Special auctions set real-time comps. See where our 12 forward indicators point and what could tilt Q4 sentiment.

We’re excited to be starting a new feature soon, called Deal of the Week. Featured vehicles will represent great value for the money and could come from Live and Online auctions, Dealer listings (where prices are posted), or Social Media. Send us your submissions and we will analyze them and make them subjects for future articles and discussions! Send us an email with your details and some images to: [email protected]. For our first Deal of the Week, our lead photo above should give you a clue.
